Wanted to get a closeup of this feather but in the end didn't like what came from lighting from the front. This silhouette image is the one I like best; kinda moody but I think it works for the kind of weather we have been having. Image taken with my Sony a6500, 90mm macro lens at F13, ISO 100, 1/2 sec, and a -1EV. Lighting from behind and to the right with a LED work light and Christmas lights as a background.

Interesting to have the feather silhouetted. The image is sharp, the background is very effective, and the texture in the upper part of the background is good. I like the image and would not change a thing. Posted: 03/19/2025 18:47:39

The more I look, the more I like. How did you suspend the feather? Colors are complimentary and composition holds attention. I'd like to try a silhouette sometime. Posted: 03/30/2025 02:15:16
