Refection by Robert Barley

July 2024 - Refection

About the Image(s)

A calm morning and quiet water created a mirror-like reflection of the trees across the pond. I'm not totally satisfied with the composition, but I found the reflection to be striking. No special editing other than a crop in Snapseed.

Wonderful reflection Robert. I would not change much to this image.

You could consider burning in a little on the left side a tad to keep the viewers eyes in the image. Jerry   Posted: 07/07/2024 13:42:26

Thank you, Jerry. I agree with your comment about burning the left side. I didn't think of that, and it would improve the image.

This is a very nice image and the composition is strong. The leading line of dry grasses points to the left side, so a bit of burning as Jerry suggests is a good idea as you say.   Posted: 07/11/2024 14:45:35

Thank you. I thought the composition was a little too centered, but where I had to stand to get the shot sort of dictated it. The suggestion to burn that area would improve the image. I just didn't see it. That's one reason why we have this great group! :-)

You did just what you set out to do. It's a calm and peaceful scene. Sharp and well exposed with fine detail in the trees.   Posted: 07/15/2024 13:02:34

Thank you. I wasn't sure about the composition, but the reflection was too good not to share with the group.

Quiet and peaceful. I agree with Jerry about bringing down the brightness on the left side. It would be fun to play with some different textures with this image.   Posted: 07/16/2024 00:12:16

Thank you, Pam. I'm interested in your suggestion about applying textures. Would you mind expanding on your idea so I can better understand?

Reflections are the best and you did excellent job af seeing and capturing this image of a blue sky summer day. Restful photograph to look at.   Posted: 07/16/2024 18:29:25

Thank you, Lynne. It was one of those "found" scenes that I was fortunate to see on a calm, dry sky morning.
