I went outside and waited for fireworks to go off. As soon as it reached high into the sky I used Live Photo on my iPhone and captured the image. (Live Photo is really a video with 1 1/2 second before I shot and 1 1/2 second after I shot. I used Snapseed and sized the image.

I really like this image. I like that the light trails are defined rather than just solid lines. I like the silhouetted houses and trees at the bottom, and I like the bright rocket trail heading upward. The composition with the main feature slightly off-center works for me, too. Good stuff.

Live photo is like capturing a video frame, I think. So how many images were in your shot to start? At times I seem to have trouble separating them. The homes and trees at the bottom give a sense of place and a context for the image. Nice! Posted: 07/15/2024 12:54:04
Very nice. I like that you have a foreground as I think it grounds the image so to speak. I played with using video of some fireworks in my neighborhood. I didn't think about using live view. Well done. Posted: 07/15/2024 22:05:45

This photograph shows that camera phones have come a long way. Not only did you capture the details of the fireworks but got neighborhood scene in the background. Truly stunning. Good timing of photograph and use of cutting edge phone apps, etc. Hope you print a photo for neighbor who was in charge of fireworks display. Posted: 07/16/2024 18:22:14
