About the Image(s)
The flower image on the left is Wild Bergamot (Monardia clinopardia) taken along my favorite trail. The on the right is the cultivated version of Bee balm taken in my garden. I also have a very similar wild version of Bee Balm (Monardia didyma) that looks identical to the cultivated one. These are spectacular tall perennials that make great accents and bloom for two months or more.
The major reason for creating the diptych was to learn to make such images. I used the Diptych app. The app is pretty easy to use to make and forward a diptych. However, so far I have not been able to save one. Anyone know how to do that?

Thee app is Diptic, not diptych. Sorry for letting spell-check sneak in!   Posted: 09/08/2023 15:26:12
Interesting to learn about the app used here. The flowers have a common element in the structure of the petals which seems to connect the two flowers. Dick, sorry to be dense but are you telling me both flowers are Bee Balm?   Posted: 09/09/2023 08:05:58
Yes, both flowers are bee balm, wild and cultivated.   Posted: 09/09/2023 09:35:45
Both flowers in the photo are very sharp with some of the items in back are not very sharp. I learned a lot about take photos of flowers and have a lot to learn a lot about the Diptic app. The pictures are very pretty and you talked me a lot about putting together photos of flowers. Thank you Richard.   Posted: 09/09/2023 16:50:38
I have not tried the "Diptic" app, so I can't offer a solution for that. I've tried diptych and triptych images in the past, but I used PS to do the combination.
This is a neat idea. It is interesting to look at the differences and the similarities between the two blossoms. There is more than color to see. Although it would add complications, it might be nice to capture an insect feeding on them, too.

Interesting to learn about and see results of Diptic App and you picked an excellent example of two versions of bee balm for your illustration. Thanks for introducing this app.   Posted: 09/16/2023 10:39:02
An interesting illustration of the two forms of bee balm. What beautiful flowers. The app you used is new to me so I can offer no help. Does the app automatically put the frame around the images?   Posted: 09/16/2023 20:05:35
Yes, the app did automatically put the frame around the images. I haven't explored the possibilities yet.   Posted: 09/17/2023 10:18:08
