About the Image(s)
The “original” here is not the same as the final. Was not happy with the clouds in the original. Rather than putting clouds in the original I chose to go back to the same spot another day. That worked as it resulted in a dramatic sky from within a few feet of the original.

Your second visit did provide a more interesting sky. I like the peaceful flowing water passing through the frame. Lush summer green is everywhere. Including the rocks in the foreground adds interest, too. I wonder if the image is tilted to the left a bit. It may just be the perspective, I don't know.

I think the "tilt" is perspective. I have 4 other images from the same spot and they all look the same, but I wasn't paying attention to how I was holding the phone so you could be right about all of them. Posted: 08/03/2026 19:18:44
Just a thought: There is a Grid that can be selected in Settings> Camera> Grid. There is also a "Level" button, but I haven't seen anything from that on-screen. I use the Grid so I can get a better sense of how I'm holding the iPhone. It may not help in some cases, but if you haven't tried it, you might test it out and see if you like it.

Was recently telling one of my grandchildren, who getting into photography, how beneficial clouds, in all their varying moods, are in drastically changing a photo. Your two photos with different clouds beautifully illustrate that fact. Good for you going back to scene to prove your point. Posted: 08/07/2026 14:47:02
What a peaceful place to be on a summer day. Yes, the clouds make the picture. You can almost feel the impending rain. It looks to me like a sun flare across the middle of the picture which seems like an odd angle or direction for a sun flare. Posted: 08/13/2026 23:20:25
Interesting. I don't see a flare unless you are referring to the bright cloud just above the trees in the middle of the image. Is there something else? Posted: 08/14/2026 13:11:56
On the right side about 1/4 of the way up into the trees. To me there is a strip of lighter green as if there is a sun flare. Maybe it's just my eyes. When I look at your original picture I don't see it put you said the pictures were taken at different times. Posted: 08/15/2026 03:08:08
Got it. It is pretty subtle on my screen . I have no idea what causes it. The picture was taken at 3:50 PM so the sun would have been behind me and at a moderate angle. The "original was taken at 2:25 PM, so the angle of the sun would have been be a bit higher. Posted: 08/16/2026 15:41:09
The intensified sky is better in your second try. I also like the rocks in in the very foreground as they add some depth. They cpold be a bit darker though. Posted: 08/19/2026 15:58:57
