About the Image(s)

Recently my wife was sent to the Lutheran General Hospital for many issues. This turned out to be 6 days in intensive care for changing medications and having a heart issue for much concern. I could not stay over night and had to live at home and visit. Our 2 adult children helped out with staying with me and their mother. Finally we got to bring her home and gradually get her energy built up. While at the hospital I had to leave the room and walk around the hospital. There were views looking out side. Two of these image got my attention.

It is good to hear that Carol is back home. Taking walks and photos while at the hospital can help you deal with concerns.
I like the composition of your final image. A tiny crop of the bottom could remove the distracting stoplights.
This is a very busy scene and your selection of the elements to keep works well.   Posted: 04/04/2026 15:00:35

What a difficult time you've had. You managed to find an interesting image. I understand how walking around and thinking photography can be helpful.

The eye naturally goes to the large type and the tank. I agree with a crop at the bottom to simplify things.

Hope all is well and improving with your family health situation.

The elevated perspective of these shots makes them unique. There's an almost drone-like feeling to them. Good use of photography to try to reduce the tension of on-going events.

I hope Carol is doing well now and both of you can relax and look forward to summer.
Did you shoot this in RAW? The extensive crop worked well. I like the high perspective. Nice looking water tower.   Posted: 04/10/2026 22:45:15

The Park Ridge Water Tower impressively displayed in both photos. Like how circular shape of building mirrors circular tower shape. Birds eye view impressive. What a good tension reliever taking photos while wife hospitalized. Am so happy to hear she is at home and hopefully on path to good recovery.
