About the Image(s)
I think of this image as an alternative to the usual fall color photographs. It's different, but still suggest the season. Shot on an iPhone 14, and processed with a little crop, but still a few slider adjustments in the "updated" Snapseed.

Your "alternative" fall color works well. The image says what you wanted at least to me. Nice idea and execution. The frame works to contain the scene, but the varying dimensions are a bit odd. Is that deliberate?   Posted: 11/07/2025 15:16:45
Thank you.
The border does look odd. The border on the image I submitted is uniform. It was only 1129x700, so it shouldn't have been too large. I suppose it is possible that the file was corrupted when it was uploaded to the PID web page.

Robert, I had to reduce the size and did not change the frame. My error. I did find out what I did wrong and had to type everyone's comments about their image. Jerry   Posted: 11/08/2025 15:21:35
Okay. Help me understand why you needed to reduce the size so I can avoid it in the future. Is there a maximum dimension?
Thanks.

You really come up with interesting things that I would never have thought about. Keep up the great work Robert.   Posted: 11/08/2025 15:25:26
Thank you. I often try to think "outside the box" and nearly as often fail to do so.

Really like your idea of focusing on individual fall leaves. Creative. Might have been interesting to add more leaves to
highlight diversity of leaves and cover up black background which not as interesting as leaves.   Posted: 11/11/2025 22:31:57

Thank you for your comments. When I was thinking about a composition, I had envisioned wet asphalt. However, in this climate that can be hard to find. The dappled light was not what I wanted, either, but I found the leaves like this, so I didn't have a lot of choice; I could have used a diffuser, but I didn't have one with me. I thought the asphalt was a better background than a surface covered with other vegetation. I was trying for something different, and I think I got that.

It has a lovely simplicity and asymmetrical balance. About the border; as I see it the very thin right side is a preferred size whilc the other 3 sides seem overwhelming.   Posted: 11/12/2025 21:55:59
Thank you. The leaves were blowing around a little while I was trying to get a snap. Out of the half dozen clicks, I thought this one was the best. I think the little yellow leaf in the upper left adds life to the composition.
The border and its size are a personal choice. I happen to like a border perhaps because it's a bit of nostalgia. The border should be uniform on all sides, of course. My image just exceeded the 1Mb max, so it was cropped to fit.

I think your composition of the leaves on the black background works well. I probably would have taken the little leaf in the top left out so there would be an odd number. Personal choice of course.   Posted: 11/16/2025 01:12:09
Thank you. I was trying for something different, and I think it turned out pretty well. Your comment is interesting because I tried a crop that eliminated that little yellow leaf, and I didn't like it. I understand the "odd number" thing, but for me there is added value including it.   Posted: 11/17/2025 16:02:58
