About the Image(s)

This image was taken in December as Poppy and I were on our daily walk. I converted it to black and white using the app Dramatic Black and White. I included the color version for comparison.

I really like the B/W version the best. Is Poppy your dog or Dad? I really like to use Dramatic Blackened White. It is one of my favorite apps. You really used the app very well. The bench. the old light pole and the railing on the right side make this a very strong image. Jerry   Posted: 04/08/2025 20:23:38

As Jerry commented, the B&W version really works. Everything pops and that is good in this case. Not every image is strong enough for thus much drama. The distracting "brushy" elements visible on both sides in the original, strengthen the B&W image. Printed on a high gloss paper this would be a great wall piece.   Posted: 04/10/2025 19:31:19

Fascinating editing as you took a spring scene and made it look like it could be winter with a light snow covering. The vignette does excellent job of putting focus on path and benches. Interesting editing experiment with good results. Thanks for showing before and after versions.   Posted: 04/12/2025 16:46:31

As I mentioned for Jerry's photo this month, I like black and white and I often use leading lines, so this work appeals to me. Cropping-in improved the scene for me, too, because it makes me feel like I'm in the scene, rather than just looking down the path. I think the vignette might be a little too much, but that's personal taste, and it may just be the preset results. Nice shot.
