About the Image(s)
A common method of travel here in WA state is via ferry. Poppy and I did a day trip to Whidbey Island to visit Fort Casey. Fort Casey along with Fort Flagler and Fort Worden formed a triangle of defense for Admiralty Inlet from 1890’s to 1942. The forts are now historical state parks.

Nice image Pam. Very interesting about the ferry and your trip to Whidbey Island. Beautiful light. You must have been waiting for the next ferry or just got off where you could take this photo. Was Kennewick the name of the ferry? The ferry looks like cars could get on or off at each end. Did you take any images in any of the stated parks? Jerry   Posted: 03/05/2025 09:58:29
Yes the boats name is Kennewick and they load and unload from the bow and stern, that way they can go directly into the dock loading area without having to turn the boat around. I did take a few pictures at Ft Casey. Maybe I will put one in next month.   Posted: 03/09/2025 20:09:03
The contrast between the ferry and the logs and branches in the foreground works nicely. The line of clouds behind the ferry adds another texture and strong line that i like. Could that line of clouds be enhanced slightly to add a tad more definition?   Posted: 03/05/2025 13:51:36
I had not thought about enhancing the clouds, thanks for the suggestion.   Posted: 03/09/2025 20:09:55
Another nice capture of a PNW scene. The ship, the water, the clouds, and the sky give the viewer lots to look through. The wooden material on the shoreline adds interest.
I wonder if adjusting the brightness (up) and the contrast (down) might open the image a bit. There might be some interesting detail in the ship that is hidden in the darkest areas. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion.   Posted: 03/09/2025 20:10:35
The logs give a sense of perspective and add to the suggestion that the ferry is headed to open seas. "Where's is it going?" come to my mind. Well exposed with good detail throughout.   Posted: 03/06/2025 13:28:15

The scattered logs on the shore makes the photograph for me as they put the ferry in perspective with its surroundings. Blue sky and puffy white clouds are another benefit. Once again perfect composition.   Posted: 03/12/2025 19:41:55
