About the Image(s)

I thought the original Lion was the best that I could make. The more that I cooked at it, I realized that there were too many problems on the right side of the lion. I fixed that in Snapseed and then went into one of the JixiPix series of apps that work for iPhone and Android. I used the one that is called Dramatic B/W. Now after years not liking the original,I am finally feel good about showing my photo. Jerry

Wow this really pops in B&W! I really like what happens to the lion's eyes in this version. Tell us more about the JixiPix apps.   Posted: 02/01/2025 20:01:37

Check out the jixipix apps. Go to the App Store and put in Jixipix. They are cheap and very easy to use.   Posted: 02/01/2025 22:22:07

He looks like he just came from the Hairdresser's shop. I like light and shadow of black and white, so I like the conversion. I'll look into the JixiPix app. Thanks for the tip.

I really like the black and white image. It makes the lion look a lot less fierce too. I have never used that ap. Thanks for the suggestion.Amazing image.   Posted: 02/05/2025 07:28:37

jixipix is a series of many neat apps. They work for both iPhone and Android.   Posted: 02/06/2025 18:13:24

I like both images but the black and white adds more drama and makes the lions face and stare seem more intense. My only suggestion would be to use ReTouch and remove the bits of grass or straw on the rock at the bottom left of the image. Well done.   Posted: 02/06/2025 00:23:21

This is a win/win as really admire both images. Composition is superb and particularly like how powerful his paws look. The color photograph works for me as the lion's coat and eyes resonate with wall background colors. The black and white conversion make the lion look more majestic.   Posted: 02/06/2025 16:03:53

I've used Dramatic black and white app for Android for years. Dave, our former group fearless leader, recommended it.   Posted: 02/06/2025 18:27:32

B&W portraits also seem to work well on people so why not on this magnificent lion. In this case, I must admit the original please me a lot also.   Posted: 02/07/2025 10:59:49
