About the Image(s)
A project for me was to lift the image of the woman from a phone shot and put her in the roadway which needed something in it because while the trees were nice, they split the image in two. I hope you got all that. In Superimpose X I could import layers and play with sizes of each layer. To handle the shadows issue I placed her in a shadow so I hope that works. There was a slight touch up in Snapseed also.

This looks like a fun project that went well.My only quibble is that the woman looks like she is floating above the road and has no right foot. I have no idea how one might fix either of those things, and it is probably not worth worrying about except for practice if you enjoy it.   Posted: 11/06/2024 18:47:37

You're so right about the foot. I hadn't noticed it. The problem must have come from when I lifted the image off the original image. Maybe I could just clone the left foot.   Posted: 11/09/2024 12:54:27

I think you did a good job of matching the woman's outfit with the colors and patterns in the trees. You have had more success with Superimpose than I have. I found it awkward to attempt to make something work, so full marks for the result.
There are several difficulties when doing composites. For me the largest is matching the lighting so the completed scene looks proper. In my opinion the lighting in the background doesn't match the lighting on the woman. Placing her in an existing shadow was a good start, but then that makes her too bright. If I had a suggestion, I'd say darken the entire scene quite a bit, then (invert) brush her right side and brush-in her shadow on the asphalt, too. I think it will work. I tried it using Snapseed and I've attached the result for your review. I hope you don't mind me fiddling with your image!

Robert, you've made some great suggestions. I especially like adding her shadow...something I couldn't figure then how to do. Yours actually looks like a human shape so nice going there. The lighting corrections are also good. Thanks.I'm wondering now if SuperimposeX has a blend mode (I think yes) and that would create a more natural setting.
Mostly I was trying to get familiar with lifting foregrounds off the phone. It does a pretty decent job but far from perfect.   Posted: 11/11/2024 12:17:35

Sol I am glad you added thew Woman. I get better results with Image Blender app. I have SuperimposeX and never use it. Image Blender gives me all the controls I would ever want. Try it. It is faster and easier to get results. Jerry   Posted: 11/11/2024 20:10:48

I love your putting the woman in the photo amongst the beautiful fall trees. The only minor distraction in the photo for me is the apartment building. Do you think removing the building might enhance your photo?   Posted: 11/13/2024 21:42:26

I agree with your observation, Rita, but I was sure how to neatly do that! Maybe I was feeling lazy (entirely possible).   Posted: 11/13/2024 23:18:13

You are way beyond me in using these apps. I too thought the right foot was missing but then thought maybe her pant leg was covering her foot. Robert pointed out things I didn't even notice. I'm glad you have fun playing with different apps and the results you can achieve.   Posted: 11/17/2024 20:30:00

It amazes me that you found a photo with a woman dressed in colors that perfectly reflected your fall scene. I haven't tried superimposing one image onto another and think your experiment works well. Smart putting the woman in shadow of tree. Congratulate you on tackling this challenge and can see by thoughtful comments that you have motivated others.   Posted: 11/17/2024 21:46:27
