About the Image(s)
For this month's image, I’ve chosen one of a spoonbill duck that I photographed last January here in Spain, in a wetland area not far from home.
The most distinctive feature of this duck is its spoon-shaped beak, which it uses to filter water and find food. Another characteristic is the colourful plumage of the male, with vibrant colours, while the females has a more muted brown coloration..

I also love the original image, Maria. The Tree Duck colors are remarkable. From the looks of them they must be very adroit divers and swimmers. Thanks for sharing   Posted: 01/10/2025 18:38:50

Hi, I'm not sure what happened either, and this isn't my image for the month.
Marylin, this is a beautiful shot captured in such a lovely way. The birds contrast beautifully against the blue sky, and the details are incredibly sharp. A truly lovely capture!

Hi Maria, this is a beautiful duck, and it's a very interesting image! However, the image is a little flat, probably due to the lighting, and the duck wing feathers are a little messy, unable to stand out from the background. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 01/20/2025 15:33:17
