About the Image(s)
After an intense month of settling into the house following our move from Australia, I can see that most of the work is done, and I now have more time to return to my photography routines in Spain.
For this month's image, I’ve chosen a photo of a Silvereye bird that I spotted in the vegetation surrounding the water area at Centennial Park, Sydney.
Exif data:
Shutter speed: 1/640 sec
Apperture: f 6.3
ISO 1000
Shot with a Sony camera and a 200-600 mm lens at 600 mm

Maria,
A great capture of this Silver-eye. They are small, but beautiful to see. They're fond of figs also. The bokeh is enhancing and the focus is tack-sharp. Thanks   Posted: 12/04/2024 17:01:04

Hi Ted,
Thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the image! Silvereye birds have always been a bit elusive for me, so I haven't captured too many great shots of them.

Maria, excellent image of a Silvereye. What you did with the background is absolutely masterful. Excellent composition, and all technical aspects to me are outstanding.   Posted: 12/10/2024 14:10:50

Hi Maria, Wow, so beautiful image! You did a great job! The bird is sharply focused and the colors of the image are harmonious. If it were mine, I would probably use Photoshop Generate Fill to get rid of a few grasses, which is a little bit distracting, and add a little bit of vignette effect around the image. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 12/11/2024 16:59:43

Hi Xiao,
Thank you for your comment and suggestion. I'm not a fan of using generative fill or vignettes when submitting images to Nature competitions, as I prefer to follow the competition rules, which usually prohibit these techniques. However, I completely agree with you that they could improve the image and help eliminate distractions.
