About the Image(s)

Every year a group of friends and I get together to have what we call our "Macro Party". We all bring different things to play with and have lots of fun creating imagines. This year I brought crayons and a cup. My photo is just a bunch of crayons in a plastic cup. How simple right, but I spent lots of time playing with the different colors and getting so many different effects. This is one of my favorites.
Editing simple needed a little crop and a little darkening. Taken with my Canon Rebel XSi, Canon 100mm Macro Lens, f5.6, ISO 200.

Kudos for your creativity and risk taking. I like the colors, shapes and textures of this abstract image. I think that it is fine as it is.You could remove some of the white spots. I of course played with it a bit. I flipped it counter clockwise to create more of a landscape feeling, added a vignette and s curves adjustment.   Posted: 09/03/2023 22:04:44

Thank you Art for your comments. The flip works very well. I like the dark color on the bottom. And your adjustments are right on.   Posted: 09/18/2023 13:37:48

As soon as I opened our group's page, your picture just jumped out. For me, there is so much to like about this abstract. I love the color and motion. I love the balance and texture. I love the lines and contrasting colors. Did I say I love this image? I would love to have this as a metal print on my office wall. I think it's a real eye catcher. I can't think of anything I could do to improve it. Art's rotation and flip is interesting. I am a bit puzzled by how you created this. Did you melt the crayons? How did you get the waves in the colors? Just marvelous.   Posted: 09/05/2023 22:31:55

Thank you so much for your comments Kurtis. Of course its the colors that are jumping out. No melting needed. I took a small box of crayons, peeled off the paper wrappings, threw them into an unbreakable drinking glass that had a wavy pattern on the outside. That's it.
All these great comments made me get out my crayons again. If this inspired you please show me what you come up with.
