The Petrel is a seagull and, honestly, not even very attractive. But it is a bird constantly in flight. Continually fishing and eating.

I like the horizontal color palliate and the story of the lonly petral. I cropped to create even more of a panoram, increased the contrast and darkened the white areas. I also flipped it horizotally. A different take for you to consider.   Posted: 03/06/2025 21:13:38

When I saw your image, I knew what I wanted to do but Art beat me to it. As an alternative, I reduced the "pano" crop, used Topaz Gigapixel to increase pixels to work with, and reduced highlights to bring out the texture of the snow. I also increased saturation. Love the whole cold lonely story being told.   Posted: 03/13/2025 09:40:19

Kurt, I like this version as well Art pp. I wish you had increased the bottom, actually the ocean. It could give the composition more sense of solitude throughout the whole scene and Petrel's solitary life. Nice job.   Posted: 03/13/2025 10:54:08

Very unique Image!!! the colors are striking. Seeing Snow on the water or the Ocean is very unusual. And you were patient enough in the cold, I imagine, to get your landscape picture more appealing and animated with the flying bird. Great job!!! Thank you for sharing. And I agree with you, Kurtis crop needs a little bit more of the ocean, but definitely this picture is enhanced with a Panorama look.

Gabriele very nice photo. All the blues together are beautiful. Are you in a ship? I do like Art's pano, with all the lines tight together. Well done.   Posted: 03/30/2025 23:31:16
