About the Image(s)
Google pixel 9 pro XL smart phone
I was flying home from Oregon recently after attending a wedding. I took this photo out the window of the airplane with my phone. This image was basically created by doing a lot of post processing and painting over the original with the “Mixer Brush” tool in Photoshop. For the original finished image, I “Super Sized” it with Adobe Camera Raw.

Is this the view from the south, with Rainier in the background? Two of our adult children live in Seattle, so we have flown many times past Rainier. This is such a great shot. I particularly like the proportions you chose for the framing of the mountains.   Posted: 08/02/2026 03:59:29
A fine example of the advantage of b&w vs. color. Exquisite.   Posted: 08/07/2026 20:31:28
I like this too, though I would have cropped to make it a square shot so the two mountains had greater impact. The colour looks ethereal whereas the mono looks more solid. They both show their volcanic origins. It's surprising how good a photo through a plane window can be despite using a phone.   Posted: 08/17/2026 13:54:43
Lovely shot,
Just thinking aloud, are some of the whites blown? Also maybe a linear gradient from bottom up and reducing the exposure, so the foreground is darker, may enhance the layered effect?   Posted: 08/17/2026 15:44:12

Nice image of the mountain peaks coming through the clouds. Your conversion to mono really improved the image. I would crop some off the top as the black area is not needed.   Posted: 08/17/2026 19:39:36
