About the Image(s)
f/22 1/125 second ISO 100 EV -0.67 8mm
Canon R5 Canon with EF 8-15 Fisheye f/4 lens
This is part of a water project near where I live.
I used f/22 to prevent sensor damage from the Sun.
I converted this to BW using the B/W adjustment layer in Photoshop. First, I did my usual processing and created a color image that I liked. Then, after saving the color image, I cranked the saturation up and put a blue filter on the sky before I converted it to BW. I had more control on how the colors were represented because of the elevated saturation.
Nothing was added or removed from the image other than the post processing.

I don't think I have ever seen such an interesting shot through a chain link fence. Well done. I like the almost Escher-esque way the fence infinitely compresses at the edges.   Posted: 07/05/2025 17:57:18
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I think I will go shoot this again and avoid getting the sun in it and avoid getting the post on the edge on the viewer's right side. Shooting it from the opposite end could capture the Rocky Mountains in the background.   Posted: 07/06/2025 16:35:30
I've never used a fisheye lens so this is a real education and a good one. Thanks   Posted: 07/07/2025 01:36:26
I have never used a fisheye lens, but this is very interesting. This is a very creative image using a chain link fence. Going to monochrome was a good choice, as the colors distract from the fence. I find it interesting that the building looks pretty normal and the horizon is flat. I agree that you should take an image without the sun because while it is a nice star burst, it is a distraction from the fence. I would not worry about the post.   Posted: 07/12/2025 19:39:10
I agree with the others that the fish eye and photographing through the fence add a lot of interest to this image. I also am envious of your beautiful sunburst, as I have difficulty getting good ones unless something like a cloud or tree partially blocks the sun. Even then, I end up deleting far more of my sunburst images than I keep. Mine also are very prone to solar flares in the image. I'm wondering if the fish eye helps with that issue?
