About the Image(s)

This derelict building with a tree growing on it presented a contrast with the better maintained, but still old style building behind it. I thought a mono treatment would go with story of dereliction, not sure how well the frame works, but will love to hear what everyone thinks.

Re the frame: You could increase the white on the left to match that on the right for a better balance.
The mono works better than the color... old style.
Overall, looks good.

Wes, Thanks, that would make the image more balanced.   Posted: 12/10/2024 17:58:37

You located and photographed a very interesting old building. Going with monochrome was an excellent choice because of the color of the bricks at the top. While the whole building area is interesting, I would suggest that you only show the area around the tree.   Posted: 12/10/2024 16:25:08

Tom, that is a good suggestion, changes the image completely. Thanks   Posted: 12/10/2024 17:59:46

I like the shot you got, and Tom's suggested crop is a good variation on it.
I am wondering about the contrast between the old and new buildings. Perhaps the new building is not quite working. I tried looking at just the old building, but that great tree jutting up makes it hard to work with just the old building.   Posted: 12/10/2024 21:10:04
