September 2023 - Mulafossur Falls

About the Image(s)

Leica Q2 Monochrome 28mm lens. ISO200 1/1000s, f/4 28mm

This possibly the most iconic & photographed spot in the Faroe Islands due to it’s easy accessibility. The cliff where you stand to take the image is starting to crumble away so this photo may become rare over time !!! It is a mono image to start & this is quite heavily worked with some old fashioned dodge & burn brushers in capture One 23.

Nick,
You have done a great job with your D&B of this iconic spot. I specifically like the detail in the village. Susan   Posted: 09/05/2023 14:20:46

Nick, a landscape which I like greatly.
The buildings certainly emphasise the sheer scale of the subject.   Posted: 09/06/2023 03:04:42

Hi Nick: To my eye this is really an outstanding image. I love the composition and how the little village appears in the landscape. The waterfall looks great even with your high shutter speed. Great sky as well. Very nice image!   Posted: 09/07/2023 06:52:32

Nick - an iconic image which I am familiar with although I never made it to the Faroes. To my eye a rather sombre and dark image, but I guess that is a reflection on the lighting at the time of capture.   Posted: 09/09/2023 04:22:14

Hi Nick
A monumental image in more senses then one,I love the way the lighting is highlighting the flat area between the cliff face and the higher ground behind, the buildings give scale beautifully processed so atmospheric.   Posted: 09/10/2023 15:14:12

Great landscape image Nick. Well balanced between land and sea. The village is well placed, adds scale and additional interest. The waterfall nicely breaks up the darkness of the cliff and the clouds are very well done. Nice image.   Posted: 09/17/2023 13:52:28
