December 2025 - Basic still life with a projected pattern

Canon EOS R5. Single strobe with fill. Converted to mono B$W adjustment layer. Colors manipulated for contrasts. A 5pixel strobe added after selectively sharpening the subject with a mask and a high pass filter.

Ed - an imaginative still life enhanced by the addition of the projected pattern. I think that the image would be improved if you could extract some more detail from the vase.

Hi Ed: I like the cast shadows of the windowpanes. To my eye, the scale of the flower vase & flower arrangement is too large, and some got lost in the cast shadow of the windowpanes. If this were my image, I might consider positioning the flower & vase more toward the left-hand side of the image so that it would be in total light vs 1/2 & 1/2. That way, the flower & vase would also cast another shadow independent of the windowpanes. Just a thought. Posted: 12/13/2025 21:01:09
