Another capture at the Alabama Hills near Death Valley. Beautiful skies and weird rocks, you couldn’t ask for anything better.
Shot with a Canon EOS R5 and RF 15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM at 22 mm, 120 sec, f/13 and tripod. Processed with ACR, Photoshop and converted to B&W with NIK 8 Silver Efex.

Michael - I remember that the Alabhama Hills are full of interestingly rock forms - wery much an alien landscape, but difficult to home in on a good arrangement.
I like the shapes, arrangement and balance of your choice. The inclusion of the foreground brush sets the scene nicely. As with your previous images from the Alabahma Hills the sky is so important- plain blue would not have worked.

Hi Michael: I really like your composition of, as you called them, weird rocks. The foreground adds interest and a whole different set of textures from the rocks behind. Your exposure and post camera processing are spot on. Happy Christmas to you and yours.   Posted: 12/13/2025 21:06:24
