An unusual title I agree but its a section of the almost flying saucer shaped building on the River front in New Brighton that houses Bubble world its the largest educational soft play and learning centre in the North West of England . It was completed in 2013 at a cost of ?1.8 to construct and furnish its been something I have been meaning to try and photograph for a while I was struggling to find something for this month from first light we have had azure blue skies over Merseyside so walked down to the river front and came back with this I do like to look at the smaller picture rather than the entire building when it comes to architecture.
How I did it
Canon EOS 5D Mk III lens Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM focal length 75mm, f4 1/800s ISO 100
Basic adjustments to RAW file made in CS6, cropped slightly all round sharpened using a high pass filter and a small amount of localised burning

Ian - a great study in shape and form. I do like the flow of the image from left to right - the upper part of the structure dominates over the less curved lower portion. Really well processed with the retention of detail in the shadow areas.
As you say - far more effective than a mug shot of the building - well seen!   Posted: 04/13/2025 10:56:38

Hi Ian: I really like your architectural image. The curved walls serve as an interesting study in design. I'm wondering if a 3px grey or white stroke might help define the image edge? Nicely processed as well.   Posted: 04/13/2025 17:11:39
