About the Image(s)
Another from my trip to the Alabama Hills in the Southwest. I had spotted this tree all alone among the rocks and had to go back a couple of times to catch the setting sun the way I wanted it.
Shot with a Canon EOS R5 and RF 15-35 F2.8 L IS USM at 25 mm, 1/125 sec, f16 and tripod mounted. Processed with ACR, Photoshop and converted to B&W with NIK 7 Silver Efex. Dodging and burning where I thought needed

Michael - a well captured portrait of this tree, well composed with the rocks and foreground detail just catching the light. To my poor eyes the image appears to be slightly and effectively diffused. The tonal gradient across the sky enhances the image.   Posted: 04/13/2025 11:03:53
Hi Michael: I love back lit images. The cast shadow is a great leading line for your subject. There are so many textures and interesting shadows and highlights. Another great landscape image.   Posted: 04/13/2025 17:06:52
Hi Michael
Your persistence of re visiting this location paid dividends, I find the image very etherial beautiful tones throughout the low light has really enhanced the shapes of the surrounding rock formation and the back lighting through the tree branches and leafs is magical.   Posted: 04/15/2025 19:44:18
