Today it is a museum.

Hi John
I love the contrast on the building the strong low light was perfect to really accentuate the shape of the building, the gable end really stands out against the moody background.   Posted: 01/09/2025 21:04:09

John - dramatic lighting coupled with the dark sky has yielded an image full of impact. Always well worth looking behind you!
One nit pick - there are sharpening/contrast halos around the roof of the building - so easy to remove using the clone stamp tool in darken mode (PS).   Posted: 01/11/2025 09:52:46

Thanks Peter, I missed the dreaded halos!   Posted: 01/13/2025 18:51:16

Hi John: Nice leading lines of the down wooden fence - which are sort of inverse but still work for me. Nice contrast that really pops in B/W. I don't like power lines but sometimes you just have to deal with them. The dark sky with is a plus which helps the house stand out. Nicely done.   Posted: 01/11/2025 12:02:44

Ella, thank you for reminding me about the power lines.
The building is on an island which probably makes the lines essential.
However I shall think about removing the lines anyway if I intend to use the image.   Posted: 01/13/2025 18:54:15

Hello John

Great shot! I like the mood created by the dark, dramatic sky and the stark white of the building. Your eyes are drawn immediately to the subject. The sharp angles of the roof and tower along with the opening in the fence, creates and interesting dynamic within the photo.

Just my opinion but I think the photo needs to be leveled using the outside vertical corner of the tower, it seems to lean to the right a little. Also, everyone has a different philosophy about removing items in their photos, but I would remove the power lines.   Posted: 01/11/2025 12:50:29

Michael many thanks. There are those two areas for me to look at.   Posted: 01/13/2025 18:56:09

hello John. Your image really grabs my attention. I like the extreme contrasts and the geometric shapes found within the face of the museum: rectangles and triangles. Also, the broken fence in the foreground leads the eye to the museum face. I might try cloning out the white structure that looks like a clothesline . It is a bit distracting for me. Well done.   Posted: 01/18/2025 15:44:13
