About the Image(s)
This image of the Mission in Taos, MN was taken with my converted IR camera. I made minor adjustments in LR and them worked in PS to convert it to B&W, using Nik, Silver Effects. I removed a cloud from the sky and cleaned up the foreground using the blue tool and worked on the perspective

Susan,
This is a great minimalist capture of a beautiful church with bold, striking architecture. The clean, white walls pop against the dark sky, giving it a surreal, almost dreamlike feel. I like the church isolated against the simple background, my focus goes straight to its unique details, like the crosses and the shadowy entrance. The soft, directional lighting creates gentle shadows, highlighting the church's shape and giving it a sculptural look.
If I could make one small suggestion, maybe adding a bit of texture or toning down the walls could add some subtle depth, they seem to be blown out a little. But overall, it's an elegant, well-composed photo that uses light and contrast perfectly.

Micheal,
thanks you for the suggestions of adding some contrast to the walls of the church. You and several others have made that suggestions. I am traveling right now but look forward to making this corrrection when I return home. This image is very pleasing to me and I look forward to enhancing it. Susan   Posted: 11/18/2024 21:28:24

Hi Susan: I love your image of this iconic mission church. Very nicely done. Just one teeny weeny suggestion and my eyes might be failing but take a look at the right-hand side of your mid frame... there appears to be a slight white streak which could be the remains of a cloud or?   Posted: 11/06/2024 17:57:49

Ella,
You have a good eye. Yes, I did remove a cloud. I will continue to work this image and make the chnages that group has suggested.   Posted: 11/18/2024 21:32:56

Susan - a dynamic representation of the mission church, well suited to the use of IR. I love the overall shape of the building and the perspective. Obviosly very difficult the record any texture in directly lit white walls and indeed there may not be any there.
It does strike me that the lower half of the image is somewhat washed out and a graduated Curves adjustment my strengrhen the image.   Posted: 11/10/2024 12:07:54

Susan, you have really captured the almost unearthly atmosphere of the place.   Posted: 11/16/2024 07:26:06

Susan, what a challenging subject. It has been done so many times that finding a new vision was a laudable achievement. It has an other world quality that I have not seen in previous images. I would like to see a little more definition at the bottom of the structure to separate from the sand. But, you may haveachieced exactly what you invisioned.   Posted: 11/19/2024 00:25:34
