This is such an interesting and complex image.
Although he is small to see, the sitting man is central. The lighting on him reminds me of paintings by Magritte.
The lights in the rooms on the upper floors of the houses suggest the lights of heaven.   Posted: 08/08/2026 18:19:31

Leonid, this is a fascinating image. There is so much in the story. The rain produces an interesting texture for the image. Although it is raining hard, it must be warm as the man is in short sleeves and some of the windows are wide open. The second floor window curtain is caught on the shutter, is it an abandoned apartment? The graffiti and the man sitting on the step suggest this is definitely not an "upscale" area. The combination of the lighting from the apartments and the street visually guide us through the image. I agree, I would like to see the original if you have it. Thank you for sharing this image.   Posted: 08/10/2026 16:35:46

I really like it, but feel it would work better in black and white.   Posted: 08/10/2026 22:58:30
