About the Image(s)

Afternoon shot taken at the beach near Bandon OR. Three men bringing their small boat to shore. Not sure, but I think they were crabbing as there is what appears to be a crabpot in the bow of the boat. Kayaks in the foreground add, I hope, interest as well as color to the image. Handheld, f/18 1/200sec, using 16-300mm Tamron lens. Discovered I had a lot of dust spots/ water spray on the lens, I was able to remove them using Topaz Labs studio... it worked quite well. Adjusted the lighting a little in LR. The Oregon coast has a lot of beautiful places to explore and photograph, Bandon being one of our favorites.

Overall I like the image, good color and atmosphere. My only critique is that I think you cropped too much of the foreground rocks.   Posted: 08/01/2026 12:48:29

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I didn't include more in any of my shots. But, a good reminder that we often probably should.... can always crop during processing.   Posted: 08/04/2026 01:58:13

It is a nice image. You have two main points to view. If the car with people is the main point of the picture, I think your foreground should be removed.   Posted: 08/07/2026 23:00:35

Yes, removing the kayaks in the foreground would put the focus on the actions.   Posted: 08/10/2026 15:17:14

I like the image as a whole. I'm undecided about the kayaks, I like the splash of color they bring to the image but not sure about how bright they are.   Posted: 08/25/2026 14:09:50
