From our trip to Australia to Cairns. This bird was sitting on the chair near our restaurant under the rain. “Bird under the rain”. I took this picture with Samsung S23 ultra, a little cropped and adjusted in PS.

The tight crop on the left makes me feel a little uncomfortable, but then the bird looks uncomfortable in the downpour... so on second thought, I think that works. :-) The background trees have interesting shapes. Posted: 04/02/2026 23:36:03
Is that a Striated Heron? Reminds of Green Herons in US. I like the artistic texture of the heron as well as the rain in this photo. Did you use a preset to create those effects? Posted: 04/03/2026 01:44:06

Further to Mark's comment, this bird seems to be demerged from the background. There seems to be no rain falls in the foreground. Posted: 04/11/2026 13:34:35
I like the scene, the rain fits well with the heron. there is a little artifacting around the right leg, like something was edited out, possibly something in the background.
