About the Image(s)
A few years ago I enrolled in PSA's Portrait Photography Class. An individualized class, I found it quite helpful. This is one of the images I took for the class. I reworked it and converted it to bw in LR. Then I used one of LR's fairly new presets. In this case, Portraits BW, PB10 option. These presets, are easy to use. You can make adjustments using the sliders, so you are not "stuck" with the program's exact choice. This young girl (daughter of a friend) was an excellent model. I photographed her and her brother out of doors, in the shade of a tree, around 2pm using my then Nikon D7200, 50mm lens.

I really like this, I like how you filled the frame with her face and the fact that it is not overly retouched in that you can see the freckles on her face.   Posted: 02/04/2025 12:52:53
Beautiful portrait, nice texture and color choice. Well done.   Posted: 02/08/2025 21:02:22
I believe you had done a bit of cropping from the original frame.
If the original subject is only this girl, I would love to see the shoulder as well. The lighting on her face is soft and it does show the features of her face. But there is no fill light to reduce the shadows of her nose and chin. The aperture is too shallow. At such a closeup shoot, the back of her hair should be in focus as well.

Thank you for that comment. My concentration was to make certain her eyes were sharp. I will remember your suggestion next time.   Posted: 02/09/2025 18:40:47
Nice portrait, I think the shadow are ok and the hair are in the focus.   Posted: 02/09/2025 19:29:24
