About the Image(s)

Indiana was hit with a major polar vortex in early January. Temperatures plunged into single digits with wind chills in the negative numbers. Early morning of the first day, there were minimal golden hour winds. Bundled up like we were headed into the arctic, a fellow photographer and I tried capturing bubbles freezing. One of the tricks is to get the correct bubble solution mixture. We tried one with corn syrup and another with glycerin. I think this is the one with corn syrup and the first to freeze. I cropped and sharpened in Topaz.

Definitely a good choice to crop in and lets us see the fine details in the snow and the small frozen bubble which looks like a globe. The lighting looks really nice with some nice highlights. I would probably remove the circle upper left and add a pinch more contrast and texture.   Posted: 02/18/2025 17:55:32

You have achieved a very pleasing result from what was difficult challenge. I like the way the light coming from the left has highlighted the edge the snow.   Posted: 02/21/2025 13:36:38
