About the Image(s)
Happy Holidays everyone! On December 6 I went to the Skagit Valley in Washington about an hour from our home, and photographed short eared owls. Out of 460 shots, this is my favorite, because of the rim lighting on the wings. This little guy was across the field, and I was using my 300mm lens with a 2x converter on a OM-1 camera. ISO 1250, 600mm, f8.0, 1/200 sec. My question is more about processing - I used LR and Photoshop. What do you think of the new Topaz software? Suggestions are appreciated!

I know nothing of Topaz software as I only use LR, PS and occasionally Nik filters on a small area of the image. I know you use OIympus, so I think you would have had a better result if you had increased your ISO so that you had faster shutter speed which would have probably removed the softness of the left side wing.   Posted: 12/12/2024 12:01:30

I use Topaz Sharpen AI which can save a soft or an in motion blur as a back up to using the correct setting per Jon.
You can specific a location on Topaz to sharpen.
I'm impress that you captured the bird at all as I'm worthless at doing it. Congratulations. Like it.   Posted: 12/12/2024 23:22:55

I use Topaz Adjust AI and am pleased with the results. As to your image, I would increase the contrast so that the bird stands out more. Also a slight vignette may draw the attention even more to the bird.   Posted: 12/21/2024 18:44:01
