Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS by Brad Ashbrook

November 2024 - Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS

About the Image(s)

This was photographed on the 13th of October near my home in Homosassa Florida. Pretty basic, shot with my Sony A9, 70-200 f4 at 70mm, ISO 1600, f4 at 2 seconds. Basic Lightroom adjustments, removed an airplane and a blue light along the horizon.

Great capture. I missed shooting it for some reason. Glad you got it. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 11/15/2024 16:39:03

An interesting shot capturing the comet. I wish I could get shots like this but in the UK we have few dark sky areas and far too much cloud.   Posted: 11/18/2024 13:23:55

I'm not very experienced at astrophotography, but for the uninitiated this photo is very dark. I think some post-processing to lighten it and accentuate the comet might help. You have a nice silhouette of the landscape and sunset, maybe lighten the foreground a bit and brighten the comet.   Posted: 11/19/2024 19:50:42

Great shot of the comet! Capturing it is challenging, especially for beginners. I agree with Lauren. A longer exposure might have brightened the sky, but it depends on the specific conditions.   Posted: 11/27/2024 01:38:07
