About the Image(s)

From the photo tour just completed. Like so many pictures while I was there, the original borders on a monochrome, because the light rain and drab skies just sucked the color out of the image. But i was drawn to how the sands and tidal water formed this S curve. With a global adjustments for color, texture, light, and contrast/haze, I added a few masks to put some directional light into the scene. Finally, I took it to PS to remove some post lines in the bottom corner.
I really liked how the bright area between the sands and the water looked, and after the adjustments, they seemed to glow.

Hi Bob, I can see why the S curve attracted your eye. I love the glowing border, the reflection at the left point of the curve, and the way the sand shows through the shallow water, and the textures and colors of the rocks and seaweed. The two large masses of land on the right side may be a little heavy, and it would be nice to see a bit more of the left turn of the curve? You have changed the mood of the image most skillfully. It would be nice to see the gloomy original, too, and maybe even try another version in monochrome?   Posted: 10/10/2026 07:17:31
