The painters are a fairly common scene traveling Europe and a nice memory. We bought a picture from a painter in Stockholm on our trip last June. I don't have that painting with me but the style looks similar. I think the image to my eye is a little flat and I would probably start by adding some mid-tone contrast. what a nice travel photo - it makes the painting you bought extra special to have its history documented in this way. The background anchors it to time and place, and I love the way you show the artist absorbed in his work.
