I joined two friends for the trip from Ft Myers to St Augustine FL. Our primary goal was shooting birds at the Alligator Farm, but we decided to do a night shoot at the Bridge of Lions, I think this bridge has a somewhat European feel particularly with the background buildings and the towers at the drawbridge section. Processing included adjusting the color balance and darkening the water and the sky.with overall sharpening. I added a motion blur to the river and used Topaz DeNoise AI. Z7, 24-120 f/4 shot at ISO 400, 98 mm, f/5.6 for 25 sec.

You are right, the picture has a European feel. Interesting composition, with the bridge bringing the viewer from the bottom left to the building at the center of the picture and the dome (a church?) on the right. Colors are good, with the sky and the water still blue (instead of black). In terms of comments, I would have liked a little more space at the top, so the lamps at the start of the bridge are not cut off. Funny that, with a 25-second exposure, you had to blur the water to add motion. Posted: 05/05/2025 22:32:05
Hi Terry, my first guess of the location would, also, have been Budapest. - I think that smoothing the water was a great idea. It adds to the calm mood of the night. I also love the color of the river that repeats the hues in the sky and makes a great background to the warm lights. Posted: 05/06/2025 17:36:29

Thanks all. Good point. I could have gone from 98mm to something less using the 24-120. So many lights, I missed that edge. As for the water. Yes it surprised me with a 25 sec exposure. I'm wondering if it has something to do with most of the light coming from the bridge and the city more or less low and across the top of the water ??

I have traveled over this bridge many times but never thought to photograph it. And your night version is well done.
