It is an exercise in a workshop about staging an image to make a statement. I thought that this one might be appropriate at the time of the latest Climate Conference. - The setup included a red toy car of a grandkid?s, placed on the stained garage floor in front of a sewer. The light comes from a lamp overhead. Fuji X-T4, 19.1 mm, f/4.5, 1/480 s, ISO 12800, handheld. - I had the camera on aperture priority and forgot to lock the ISO to a reasonable value, so there was a lot of noise. I tried all my denoise options and felt that actually the new Topaz Gigapixel did the best job, also sharpening the image a bit. I then corrected the white balance and adjusted the colors in Affinity Photo. What do you think?

My first response is a smile. Another unique image from you. Good color correction, Good composition and DOF. There are any number of stories (statements) that could be read into this image.   Posted: 12/07/2024 21:03:51

Thank you, Terry! I am glad that you think that it works! Staging an image was actually a very effective exercise in terms of thinking what one wishes to convey.   Posted: 12/07/2024 21:18:28

Kirsti, I am always amazed at your vision and ingenuity. The story here is well thought out and captivating. The choice of the red car is spot on.   Posted: 12/11/2024 19:16:20

This is a fun image; your vision is great. I could also see this blended with a desert scene for even more fun!   Posted: 12/11/2024 23:43:49

I like the photo, and the final image benefited from the tone conversion. Although it's a toy, the car looks quite realistic. The stained floor leads the viewer from the car, which is perfectly positioned, to the manhole cover. Having said this, I'm not so sure about the message you wanted to convey.   Posted: 12/16/2024 17:15:45

Thank you, Jose - I can tell you that there was a heated discussion in the workshop, too, if the message was an earnest statement for carbon neutrality, or a sarcastic comment to environmental activism.   Posted: 12/17/2024 19:38:20
