About the Image(s)

Taken with my Canon R5, 24-70mm lens, f/8. ISO 100, 1/20 sec.

The plastic cup was laid onto a light pad with a sheet of polarising "plastic" underneath it. A polarising filter was put onto the front of the camera lens. It was then a matter of moving the camera filter round till the colours showed up and getting the exposure right to enhance them. The round part of the image was taken looking down into the cup.
I took both images into PS where I cropped in a little. I moved the round image onto the main one a placed it bottom right. I used levels to get the BG black as felt it showed up the colours better. I used H&S to enhance the colours and also removed couple dust spots. Image was then flattened and sharpened it using high pass.

What an imaginative shoot. I like the tones and exposure of the final image. My eye wanders around the tall glass. I'm not sure that it needs the smaller glass in the same photo.   Posted: 02/14/2025 18:14:15
