About the Image(s)

This image was taken in April 2022, in the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain where some of the buildings date back to the 13th century. As well as this stunning Court of Myrtles with its reflecting pool, I have tried to capture some of the amazing intricate honeycomb-like artwork of the Moorish craftsmen in the walls and arches which is found throughout the lavish royal halls…. I am happy to share other images of this amazing UNESCO heritage site if anyone is interested.

Metadata R6, 24 to 105 at 24mm,1/15, f11, ISO100,…...I removed a distracting pole and rope in the foreground, removed some of the people, cropped and straightened the image, generally improved the clarity and tone and specifically highlighted the plasterwork detail in the ceiling, wall and archway.

Your post processing of this image is excellent! I think bringing the sky colors and texture back makes a big difference. I also feel that the overall tone of the image works well including the green hue of the hedge. My only suggestion I would like you to consider is moving up the bottom edge just enough to eliminate or cloning the dark brown so that the light tile edge would be eliminated since it is not the same width across and draws my eye to this fact. The plasterwork detail is incredible.   Posted: 07/03/2026 19:16:41

Thank you, Terry, for your comments… I agree with you on the matting … didn't spot it   Posted: 07/03/2026 21:07:07

Nice shot. Your post processing is very good. I would have trimmed the bottom portion more to avoid the dark portion (about 8%). The reflection add more interest. You can replace the sky with a blue one. The sharpness and lighting are good.   Posted: 07/09/2026 16:43:28

Some great detail on this image. I agree the matting at the bottom of the image could be cropped out.
On a persomnal note I hate seeing rope/string in photos & if it were mine I'd clone out these distractions as (for me) they cut the image in two.   Posted: 07/10/2026 19:34:31
