About the Image(s)

This flower is just outside my den window and I love to look at the dozens of them that grow on my bush.

I photographed the flower with my iPhone 15 Pro. The settings were 1/540 sec at f/1.8, ISO 64. In Lightroom I cropped it, adjusted the highlights and shadows, and the texture, moved the dehaze slider to the right, and added a vignette.

I moved it to Photoshop to use the burn tool because there were still some areas with too much light. And then I used Topaz AI Sharpen, and Topaz Adjust 5 to add a border.

Great iPhone shot… who needs macro lenses anymore. For me the petals on the flower are over processed resulting in a noticeable fringing on the edges … I think the definition of the leaves is good in the original and the image is a bit too sharpened for me.   Posted: 04/09/2026 19:34:33

Ger, I agree the petals are over-sharpened. Topaz AI Sharpener is a wonderful tool, as long as it is kept from over-sharpening. I will need to do the post-processing over.   Posted: 04/10/2026 00:18:12

I re-did the post-processing, without any sharpening.   Posted: 04/14/2026 19:48:31

I'm amazed at the phone quality you get. Looking at the re-processed image is an improvement.   Posted: 04/17/2026 10:55:17

Joan, I agree with the suggestions given and would also like you to consider blurring the leaves a bit and adding a vignette to further accent the flower. Colors are beautiful!   Posted: 04/18/2026 02:05:56
