About the Image(s)
Taken with my Nikon D 5200 on Manual Mode, Lens 55-300; Focal Length 300mm, Speed 1/1250 sec., F/6.3, ISO 200. Catching a bird feeding is rare for me. They are so fast and usually the fish is a blur. This one was not quite sharp but I thought I would try to adjust in post processing. Post processing Photoshop Basic adjustments, mainly trying to sharpen the fish. Since this is an Anhinga, his body was below water which made figuring out a composition a challenge. My questions: Is the fish sharp enough? Does this composition work?

Terry, I think your composition is super. Background couldn't be any better. I think if you shot faster it would have helped your slightly soft problem of the fish and head. This cormorant is in the process of tossing the fish to swallow. Hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of sharpening the head and fish slightly an I think it made a big difference. What do you think?   Posted: 12/05/2025 13:30:47
Terry, I agree with Tom - composition is terrific, and so is the background. The colors in the head are also terrific. I would sharpen the image in Topaz Sharpen AI. Then there wouldn't be any question about sharpness.   Posted: 12/05/2025 16:41:29
