About the Image(s)
This image is of the Rudston Monolith which is the largest standing stone in the United Kingdom. It stands 7.6m above ground, is estimated at 40 tons & dates from the late neolithic period.
I have made many attempts to photograph this monument in the differing seasons, this is one of the better ones! I thought turning it to monochrome gave it a better feel than the original colour, however the rock is the same mid-tone as the church. The subject is in the middle of the frame but by including the darker foreground memorials I have tried to give an ethereal feel.
