About the Image(s)

Taken with my Nikon D 5200 on Manual Mode, Lens 55-200; Focal Length 55mm, Speed 1/500 sec., F/6.3, ISO 320. Post processing Photoshop. I started with Auto and liked the effect. Made a few minor adjustments and then used ON1 to decrease grain. Finally, I added a vignette hopefully to hide the graininess in the dark area. I must say photographing cars has never been of interest to me but this car show had some interesting subjects. My questions: Does the blue hue add or detract from the image? Does the composition work?

Hi Terry,
nice color full and vibrant image, if you can share the car picture it will be more beautiful.   Posted: 03/05/2025 03:35:15

Thanks Barath! Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the entire car. There where so many cars at this event, I just focused on what I thought were interesting features.   Posted: 03/22/2025 16:51:12

I find the blue helps - as blue is a cool colour and metal is also cool/cold. The whole image is pinsharp and makes an attractive image.   Posted: 03/11/2025 15:21:57

Thank you Charles! This was my first experience with this type of event. I am glad I went and will definitely will go back again next year. Our strong Florida sun makes it very challenging but I learned that seeking out cars that where parked under trees made it easier to handle the light.   Posted: 03/22/2025 16:55:55

Terry, I really like your power house portrait of an engine. I too like the blue hue. I tried cropping a little off the left side but did't like it. For me your engine has good visual impact, interest and is very sharp.   Posted: 03/12/2025 08:01:08

Interesting image. I liked your post processing. The blue tone has good effect on the appearance of the engine. The image is sharp and I liked the composition. The cable in the left and the belt in the middle act as leading lines to the air filter(?) on the top of the engine.   Posted: 03/19/2025 05:05:47

Until now, I did not know that a car engine could be beautiful. Every part of the image is interesting and attractive to me, and it is enhanced by the blue hue.   Posted: 03/19/2025 10:46:20

Joan, this type of venue and photographing cars was all new to me. I actually did not know what to expect but I learned a lot about what to look for to avoid our Florida sun blowing out colors. Thanks!   Posted: 03/22/2025 16:59:28
