About the Image(s)
September of this year found us in the northeastern United States (from Florida) traveling with our travel trailer. We had the privilege of visiting the Longwood Gardens, west of Philadelphia. In addition to the acres and acres of beautiful flowers, they had a dahlia exhibit and a competition for the best dahlia. My image this month was one of the competitors.
I took the image with my iPhone 15 Pro at 1/60 sec, f/2.8, ISO 250, 9mm, imported it into Lightroom, and then edited just a bit in Photoshop. I wanted to darken the lighter parts of the background, so I had Photoshop select my subject, and chose Selection/Inverse to outline the background. Using the shadows/highlights option I darkened the highlights in the background Any that were still too light, I darkened using the Burn tool. I didn't feel I needed to sharpen the image; my iPhone seemed to get it nice and sharp.
I added a border using Topaz Adjust 5, and that was it.
