July 2024 - Friendly Disagreement

About the Image(s)

This is a purple Gallinula’s love story that did not end well. He and she were together and a lone wolf came over and wanted to take over, so Romeo had to defend his girl in a friendly disagreement. The image was created in Green Cay Florida using a Nikon D4s with the Sigma zoom lens 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 @ 600 mm and with these settings: ISO 1600, f/6.3 and 1/640 sec. The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped.

Isaac, this is definitely action packed! Communicates a message! Don't mess with me! Seriously, has visual impact and interest. You can see the action in the legs and also the sharpness in the birds and the water drops all around the image. Most would have shot that at a faster shutter speed but I like the slower shutter speed that shows the action.   Posted: 07/03/2024 12:21:01

Isaac, what a great shot. I really like the sharpness of the heads and the expressive eyes looking at each other. And then the movement of the rest of the body that conveys action. The colors and texture are also very pleasing.   Posted: 07/08/2024 15:47:10

Isaac, I like this action shot of birds (I am not familiar with) and I also like the blurring of the fastest moving extremities of these fascinating birds. Jim   Posted: 07/11/2024 15:29:57

It is a great action shot of the two birds. The different activities of the four legs clearly present a dynamic and thrilling degree. (f/6.3 and 1/640 sec.) Thanks for your sharing.   Posted: 07/17/2024 01:42:15

Isaac, I agree with everyone's comments. I particularly like that there are no distracting elements in the photograph, given the habitat these birds live in. Beautiful!   Posted: 07/17/2024 20:14:23
