About the Image(s)
I took this image while on a photoshoot at the Raptor Center in Auburn, WA. The bird was released by its handler and it flew directly over my head. I started shooting as soon as the bird was released and continued shooting as it flew by. I shot over 14,400 images in less than 3 hours during the photoshoot. Fir this image I used an Olympus 80-300mm f2.8 lens with a 1.4 teleconverter and shot at 482mm 1/3200 sec f5.6 ISO 2000. I used the electronic shutter for this image shooting at 20 frames/sec.

Dough, WOW indeed. Peak of action, very sharp, great position of the wings with no obstruction and perfect non distracting background. Well done.   Posted: 07/05/2025 16:08:47
Picture perfect ! You worked for this and the result speaks for itself as you made the most of the controlled circumstances of the shoot. Absolutely an image to treasure.   Posted: 07/06/2025 08:38:58

Awww Doug - Nothing to say but CONGRATULATIONS! Right subject, right moment, right settings, right PHOTOGRAPHER! This is cover shot material, for sure! Maybe Living Bird, or Audubon or Nature Conservancy calendar cover?? I suspect you've got a few more on that hard drive, too. Can't wait to see more!
