My submission is of a Giant Kingfisher captured fairly early in the morning with good lighting.

The giant kingfisher(Megaceryle maxima) is the largest kingfisher in Africa, where it is a resident breeding bird over most of the continent south of the Sahara Desert, other than the arid southwest.

What an awesome photo! Love the blurred background. Image is very sharp, with great detail. I think Kingfishers are a very hard bird to capture. They never stay still long enough. Great capture! Posted: 05/06/2025 12:34:52
