About the Image(s)
I identified it with Google as an acorn woodpecker. I photographed it in Madera Canyon (southern Arizona) during a bird migration.
Shot with a Canon 90D, Canon 100-400L IS zoom at 400mm, ISO 3200, f-8, 1/1250 sec

Jerry, indeed a beautiful bird. I photographed them last year in Colombia. The image is sharp. Perhaps adding a little more light bring out more color and detail in the feathers. For pure nature salon nothing else can be done. Here we can use the magic of photoshop and improve the background. Added some more canvas so the bird does not look tight. Also, I like it flipped.   Posted: 05/02/2025 21:29:36
Very sharp image. Great catch light in the eye. The bird really seems to be focusing on something.(maybe his next meal)! I like the image reversed, as I think our eyes naturally look from left to right as if we are reading a page in a book..   Posted: 05/06/2025 12:46:44
