Gerhard, this variety of Heron is not available in North America. The only bird that may have some resemblance with is is the Amrican Bittern. I like his position and looks that he just missed or already swallowed the little fish given by the stream of water falling from his beak. Image is sharp, and the colors are very vivid.   Posted: 04/03/2025 00:31:26

Gerhard,

Your image is very inspiring in its composition. I love the reflection and pose. This is a striking image of a Heron not seen by many. This action of capturing a small minnow adds to the story line.   Posted: 04/03/2025 19:31:01

WOW - look at that extension! Very sharp image, telling the story of his search for his next meal. Love the reflection. Maybe take out the reflection of the branch in the lower left corner, if permitted in PSA rules.   Posted: 04/08/2025 00:31:29

Hi Gerhard, Great photo! Lovely composition, sharp subject and great action. I really like the clear reflection.
I recently saw the American Bittern, my first time ever, and it looks very much like Squacco Heron.   Posted: 04/08/2025 18:22:45

Wow Gerhard what an interesting bird and such great composition. The image is very sharp and the colors and textures very nice. The reflection is exquisite. I love the little puddle below the beak.   Posted: 04/19/2025 21:38:56
