About the Image(s)
We visited Merritt Island in January 2025. The Spoonbills were scanning the water for small fish and I was lucky enough to catch one tossing it. I have never seen such vivid coloring around the bill area before. Wondering if this is color change is because of mating season?

Spoonbill in matting/breeding colors, just capture a little fish. It is interesting as how they move their neck from side to side in a semicircular fashion while vacuum cleaning for minnows, which seems to have caught. The image is sharp, and the colors are very intense.   Posted: 04/03/2025 00:36:39
