About the Image(s)
This image was created at the Blue Cypress Lake in Central Florida, and from a boat which is the only way to come close to the Cypress trees in the water and where the ospreys nest, using a Nikon Z9 with the Nikkor zoom lens Z 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 + 1.4x TC for a total of 560 mm and these settings: ISO 1800, f/8 and 1/3200 sec. The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped.

Wow - a this image is a standout - in all of the osprey images I've seen and/or shot, I've never seen osprey talons so prominent, steely, and menacing as what you've captured here. Your choice of crop seems to accentuate the power of this fierce hunter. Hard to find a thing to change here, unless lightening the dark fish fin just a bit might keep eyes focused more on the bird and its talons.   Posted: 03/08/2025 19:32:12
